Thank you for this honest critique – the play was more than a disappointment for it pretended to be somewhat truthful but distorted the reality. Newton would not have had a needle in his eye for months! The website which you directed us to depicts a very interesting story which, had it been told truthfully, would have begun to make this production an asset. As it stands – best to soon forget this play and hopefully these inaccuracies do not become canonized into a Newton myth. I would fault the Sloan foundation for funding this as it is both anti science and anti intellectual - grant money for the humanities is very precious and one does not like to see it so wasted.

That's a good point about the Sloan Foundation ... the relationship of this to science is so much less interesting than the play Photograph 51 which they sponsored with this theater group, and Photograph 51 was a much better play, too. Thanks, Yvonne

You both have lost the sense of magic that s inherent in art. You are upset because it is not real enough? Are you crzy? The playwright was not giving a report for school for God's sake...it is art!

I think differences of opinon are very worthwhile and stimulating, and I welcome them heartily. Unfortunately, an insulting tone doesn't advance discourse.

Good luck ,Great post, love you! Thanks for the info it had cleared out too many things in my mind. Your recommendations are really good.

I'm glad you enjoy -- thank you! Yvonne
